8/6/08 01:41 pm - The Nintendo Entertainment System

I won one off of Ebay with six games (including the original gold Zelda games), the Zapper, turbo controller, a Super Scope. Why the Super Scope was included I really don't know nor do I care. It was delivered to me today here at the office and I really can not wait to get home and hook it up. :)

And I know haven't put any pictures up from my vacation but its so hard to really get in the mood to do anything when I get home. I just want to relax, watch my DVR'd shows, and play WoW on my awesomely huge Macintosh.

7/31/08 04:25 pm - Apple stuff makes me happy

I received my copy of Final Cut Studio today and damn is that box heavy. It weighs 15 pounds just by itself! Tomorrow the iMac is set to arrive at my office which means I'll get to spend all weekend getting it all set up.

Here's what needs to happen:
1. I need to make a Windows XP SP2 slipstream disk so I can do a proper dual boot. Only reason is there are some PC games I still want to be able to play.
2. Get rid of the hutch on my desk as the iMac is far too wide to fit in the space I have. Not a problem as I'll be selling the whole desk to my friend Melissa and buying another one.
3. After getting it all set up, I'll have to partition and migrate all the data I want to keep it which means moving all sorts of stuff around on my PC so I can take the best drive out of it and get myself a Firewire case.

Good thing I have all weekend for this because I know its going to take hours.

7/30/08 09:40 am - The vacation's over

So I never actually got around to taking the pictures off my camera; just felt like too much work. :) Let's see if I can get myself to do it now that I'm back in Houston and at work again.

Oh by the way, this is what I'm getting delivered to me pretty soon. It's the high end variety!

7/24/08 05:04 pm - Key West 2008 - Day One

Checked into the hotel here on the island after driving our rental car all the way from Fort Lauderdale to the Keys. Had to relax for a bit before hooking up my laptop. Going to unpack some stuff and get ready to get myself some dinner. Pictures and more to come after I get back to the hotel after tonight.

Ok, I didn't get to take as many pictures as I want to yesterday because it was just too late in the day and, when we all went out for drinks, I left my camera in the rental car. Should have grabbed it but yeah, wasn't thinking.

Pictures to come soon.

7/23/08 11:55 pm - Key West Vacation Again!!

Going to be betting on a plane in roughly 6 hours to head back to Key West. Expect more beautiful pictures of paradise! :)

7/16/08 08:56 am - Some dreams just really suck

After getting home last night, I promptly passed out. I had been tired all day and going to the Houston Dynamo game really didn't make me any more awake but I did learn a really good recipe for making spicy hamburgers so that was a plus.

I wouldn't say I had a nightmare last night as it wasn't scary in the slightest rather it was all sorts of depressing. And I really do believe that to be worse.

Oh and I tore 121 down again. I'm so damn fickle about that site.

6/23/08 11:34 am - Moved

I'm "fully" moved into my new apartment as of yesterday. I feel quite accomplished about having everything more or less put away, furniture positioned, and the beginnings of my kitchen starting to take shape; all in two days. Sunday was really about assessing what else I will need to get and cleaning up really.

I really like the place. That's a given else I wouldn't be living there at all. Met up with Michael (Wilson) last night after having not see the fucker for months and apparently we live pretty close to each other so there should be some nice nights out in the future.

Just like the car post, I'll be uploading some photographs of the unit soon. Unfortunately it won't be from home as I won't have internet access until next Monday BUT I'm getting it with TV service via AT&T's U-Verse. No more rabbit ears for me - I'm moving up! Comes with DVR too so I won't have to miss Mythbusters or Law & Order.

Roy (Castleberry) and I had lunch yesterday as well and we got to talking about how far we've both come since we met. Both of us are now in jobs we adore and making more money then our last two jobs combined.

Things are good. I am happy about how life is progressing.

6/15/08 08:33 pm - The 2008 VW GTI MkV

I said I was going to show everyone what the new car and well here it is. It is still missing the chrome mirrors and chrome hatch piece but those should be put on in the next week. In any case, I really love my new ride. :)

6/9/08 09:51 am - The great spam experiment

Ok, not really great per se but still something I wanted to try. I'm not going to empty out my spam folder in Gmail for two weeks (started last Monday) and see how much I end up with as well as how varied. So far I'm up to 271 messages.

5/28/08 09:43 pm - The new car

I just signed the paperwork to have a brand new Volkswagen GTI Mk5 delivered to me on Friday. It is black with chrome accents, sunroof, and a bunch of other nice things. Pictures will definitely be posted!

5/24/08 04:49 pm - Silver Edition

Guess who just picked up a brand new silver edition Playstation 2 for $32? If you guessed me, you would be correct.

4/30/08 09:25 am - The best thing

From onetwentyone.org

The best thing about yesterday is that I did exactly what I had planned to do. I ran through the dailies on the Isle of Quel'Danas to get me some of that gold, got my flying mount, and had really good Chinese food from the nice lady who owns the restaurant down the way. She even threw in some free spring rolls; so nice.

4/29/08 11:38 am - Gold farming the dailies

From onetwentyone.org

It's been a while since I last talked about WoW so today seems like as good a day as any. The weather is awesome outside so I'm looking forward to opening the windows and running a good number of dailies when I get home. Will probably pick up some Chinese food from this little shop down the road from the house as well. Mmm stir fry. Ok, enough of that.

Since I've recently got my little Loannae up to 70 and re-spec'd her to the Retribution tree (though still got some points dropped in the Protection tree), I've been running dailies to build up the funds to get her a flying mount. As of yesterday, I was averaging roughly one hundred thirty gold an hour and that's with me taking my sweet ass time. I figure that if I worked at it, I could be banking a lot more.

Ret pallys are a DPS build and that's not something I'm familiar with. Nearly every game I've ever played, I've always played with the idea of burst damage; very high damage if not often. Even after I get that mount, I'll still be running dailies for more gold so I can buy some better gear to start digging into the PVP content seeing as how PVP gear is much better suited to the Ret build than most instance drops. There is the added benefit of not having to hope for a drop when all I'll need to do is build up honor and badges to "buy" the equipment I want from the vendors.

Good thing I'm single right now or my girlfriend would probably be quite upset with me wanting to get epic l00tz than sex.

4/25/08 09:34 am - So far behind

From onetwentyone.org

Even though I've been taking pictures everyday, I still haven't developed the habit of uploading them. So i just did a batch update for everything I've taken this past week.

4/23/08 10:18 am - Nine Inch Nails - Discipline

From onetwentyone.org

Just downloaded the newest single from Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor never fails to impress. It's available completely free and downloads pretty fast. I'm on my nth listen right now with my headphones but I really want to hear it at home on my full speaker system.

4/16/08 03:40 pm - Tuesday night at Dirt Bar

From onetwentyone.org

As a general rule, I've been steering clear of the Dirt for a while now. I still enjoy talking to the staff and seeing a small handful of friends but its the rest of the crowd that irks me royal. I suppose that's the way of ever bar, starts off with the core folk and slowly more and more people discover it and dilute the flavor. Not to say that is a bad thing either because with each new influx of fresh humans, a few turn out to be pretty nice people.

Introduce Julie.

4/11/08 11:00 am - Parental advice

From onetwentyone.org

Apparently both of my parents have been talking about me getting another girlfriend. Neither of them seem to like the idea of me spending all my free time either reading or playing video games. I used to have the snappy come back of “Sounds like a good idea, let me just invite a girl over to MY PARENTS’ house” but I think they’ve grown used to that.

I don’t think they quite understand that relationships I have now aren’t the same I had in high school where holding hands was enough. There is that whole sex thing that I hear the ladies like and I don’t find too terribly bad myself. Also there is the comfort factor; none of my girlfriends have ever truly been comfortable in the presence of my folks despite how inviting the both of them try to be.

I was planning on having my own apartment again about this time of year but seeing as how my job status hasn’t been finalized, I’m not about to jump into a renting situation without the luxury of a steady paycheck. That is to say, I’m being smart about it. Oh and there is the whole I have no idea how I’m going to decorate it thing. I figure that will come once I know where I’ll be moving to.

This is where I want to live and, with what I make now and the lack of debt, it well inside of my budget but the lack of a washer and dryer in the unit is a bitch. The complex is lovely and its just a stone throw away from the Stags Head which is rather nice. If anything, there is a strong possibility that I will probably be moving back to Richmont Square. Not my first choice but yeah, live below your means and all.

I’m really just ranting now and I forgot what I originally meant to type up so let’s call it here.

4/9/08 09:58 am - At the ball park

From onetwentyone.org

My office purchased tickets to the Astros game last night and I ended up with two. I had only requested one as I had full intentions of just going by myself and eating really expensive chili cheese dogs but I wasn't going to let that extra ticket go to waste. So yesterday morning I sent out a mass text message asking who wanted to go, last minute I know, and damn if I didn't get a lot of responses.

There is a waitress at the Stags Head Pub, where I frequent after work to read and get dinner occasionally (Jamaican Jerk Tenders are bloody delicious), by the name of Deva who I've gone out with for dinner and drinks a few times who was the first to respond. As soon as she said she wanted to go, I told everyone else that the open seat was spoken for. :)

Her and I don't usually get much time to just talk and it was a very welcome exchange. Now that I know what nights are perfect to do stuff, her schedule is just as screwed up as mine, we agreed that we definitely need to do it much more often.

In closing, Adrian is super happy at the moment even if he is massively tired and would much rather be eating or sleeping than working.

4/7/08 08:36 am - NPR

From onetwentyone.org

I listen to NPR in the mornings on my way to work and I'm still not used to hearing someone I work with doing the weather forecast. I mean, hell, I designed his bi-daily webcast for weather! I know eventually it won't mean anything but at the moment, it is still odd to hear him on the radio on the way to work.

4/6/08 10:45 am - 365 and very bad packaging

From onetwentyone.org

I was just going to put this picture up and let it speak for itself but I really had to leave at least some comment about it. It's supposed to be a barbecue grill that blows air up through the assorted, I assume, meats you can "cook" on it. Needless to say, nothing it comes with looks like meat. And those green things? Who puts lettuce and pickle slices on an open range? I don't need my trimmings browned.

That kid; I hope he isn't truly retarded because damn if he doesn't come across that way on the box. I'm sure they told him to smile and look excited but he looks a hair's breadth away getting ready to cry. Head looks to big for the arm, arm looks photoshopped in, hand isn't really holding anything; the whole mock up just screams "I had three hours to get this done".

For any of you curious as to where this box came from, I was at Linen's and Things looking to pick up a new trash can and something to hole all my extra toilet paper rolls. I'm growing domesticated and it scares me. Not as much as that kid though but close.
